“I'm Ellie Thompson. I'm in the Accelerated BSN Program.

“I love the idea of helping people in any way, being able to be with them in some of their lowest points, and maybe some of their highest points, depending on the situation. It's just important to me. I love being able to help people.

“I thought this was a perfect fit for me. I liked the ability to be flexible with my learning so I can take care of things that I need to take care of. It's really nice that it's hybrid, and I've really enjoyed this experience being on campus.

“I think the faith background of the program means that I'm going to take the best care of my patients that I can and use my ethics, morals, and values, along with the religious background, to treat them in the best way possible.

“My professors have been great. They're always open for questions, whether through Zoom calls or just emails. They're always available within about 24 hours, which is exactly what we need.

“It's been great getting lectures from my professors, being able to talk to them face to face, ask them questions, and then just being able to do the hands-on skills.

“I want to make sure I'm the best nurse possible. I want to help people in every way I can, make sure I'm doing my best in challenging myself and others in ways that I think we could be better.”
